Hey everyone, isn’t the Olympics great!…. Everyone’s wearing the biggest grin ever! and actually talking to each other……… It’s the talk of the town. It’s buzzing…….
Starting off with the wonderful and spectacular Opening Ceremony, featuring British History there were so many favourite things. It’s very hard to pin-down what I liked best because I loved it all, but if I really have to choose, then I would have to say in terms of design (being a designer myself), the Olympic Cauldron designed by Thomas Heatherwick is just well…… Awesome.
I’ve always been a fan of Thomas Heatherwick’s work, the man is a genius. If you don’t know much about Thomas Heatherwick, here’s a couple of YouTube videos for you to watch. Some of his work can be seen at the V and A until 30th September.
P.s. If you do go to the V and A, you must sit in the Thomas Heatherwick Spun Chair…. like a weeble it rolls, and you can spin around with your legs swinging in the air…. it’s great fun. It’s really funny seeing adults, including myself having a go. Kids would just love it.
