ATADesigns at #DesignPopUp – Bristol
Over a week ago ATADesigns was in Bristol exhibiting for 3 days at #DesignPopUp exhibition held At Bristol Science Centre. What I love about the concept of #DesignPopUp is that it’s very different to other trade shows. Although #DesignPopUp exhibitions are small, they’re very focused and are attended by the who’s who of architects, designers, specifiers, contractors and developers from major UK practices. #DesignPopUp events have become synonymous with quality, innovation, creativity and opportunity.
Our First Time in Bristol
It was our first time visiting and exhibiting in Bristol. We certainly grabbed the opportunity to exhibit with #DesignPopUp, and I am sure it won’t be our last. Especially, as the exhibitions takes place in various parts of the UK. There were plenty of opportunities for networking with other exhibitors and visitors, especially on Wednesday during the Parmesan & Proseco Party. The whole event was very relaxed, and our wallpapers were well received.
I must say that I love the way the light reflected on some of the wallpapers. The colours seem much richer and deeper.
Bristol is a lovely vibrant city with so many interesting features. I look forward to exploring more in the future. Perhaps I may design a wallpaper collection based on Bristol’s features… Now there’s a thought!
Creative Director, Sara Servalli the brainchild behind #DesignPopUp
#DesignPopUp is a Double S Events Ltd Production. A young and dynamic event agency founded in 2014 by international Marketing and Events specialist Sara Seravalli (above). Sara chose Scotland as her base after working for more than 15 years in the design capitals of Milan, Paris and London.
It was lovely meeting Sara again after our initial meeting in London last year. Sara successfully organised eight companies (@llgood, Domus, Egger, Formica, Methven, Shadbolt, Surface Matter and ATADesigns) to exhibit at this event and hosted a great party.
During the exhibition, I’ve learn’t about some amazing products. Two products in particular had caught my eye and they are:
Formica’s new product: Formica Infiniti
Guy Donathy (European Category Manager) and Sarah Wood (Specification Manager) of Formica featured a brand new product called Formica Infiniti. Formica Infiniti is a surfacing material that is elegant and sleek with a contemporary matte finish. What I love about this product (I’ve seen the demonstration) is that it’s created using a technology that protects it from marks, finger prints and accidental abrasions, so it stays looking younger…. says Formica.
Here are the specs:
- Soft Touch
- Anti-Finger Print
- Thermal Healing of Micro-Scratches
- Post Forming
This surfacing product comes in a variety of colours and comes in 3 grades. You have to see and touch this product, the finish is amazing.

Surface Matter Introduces the Lollygagger collection by Loll Designs
It was lovely meeting Vienna Huffman (Studio Manager) and Scott Campbell (Director) of Surface Matter.
Surface Matter work with some of the most exciting materials. They love collaborating with creative people to push the boundaries of architecture and design. They partner with leading manufactures to bring materials to market and connect them with the right people on the right projects. They work with everyone from restaurant and retail brands to furniture manufacturers and the A&D community.
Surface Matter featured the Lollygagger collection, a line of outdoor lounge furniture by Loll Designs. Loll Designs manufactures durable, commercial outdoor furniture and accessories from brightly coloured recycled plastic.
I must say the seatings very comfortable to sit on… you should give it a try.
