Hatfield House

Last week was the FespaUK Conference held at the beautiful historic Hatfield House. As seen in films such: Batman, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Wonder Woman + many more.

Myself and Elisa Interiors was invited to speak at this prestigious conference, interview style. Honored to be among a list of interesting speakers, each an expert in their own field.

We’d spent a few months planning, meeting the organizer Suzie Wilkinson, and her colleague Carol Swift, so it was nice to see all that hard work brought to life at the conference.

We started the day setting-up, and when all was done it was back to Sopwell House where we stayed. Later on in the evening was networking drinks followed by a networking dinner. The food was fantastic with conversations flowing, and lots interesting connections made. Earlier on, it was lovely bumping into a couple of known faces like Debbie McKeegan‌ (Texintel) and Terry Raghunath (HP) who were also speaking at the conference. What a great evening, it was certainly buzzing.

The next day was the conference, and WOW what a line-up of textile based print and design industry experts ready to share their knowledge. I’d learnt so much at the conference, it was very exciting with lots of interesting topics, I couldn’t wait for the next one. There was certainly “a passion for print” expressed and displayed in the room with a touch of debate. The future is bright with digital printing, there’s so many exciting things happening and at our grasp at the moment. This conference was certainly one not to miss.

Here are some pieces both Elisa and I prepared for our talk. Introducing digitally printed designs featured on fabrics and furniture. Our talk was s a Q&A talk on “What challenges we face with designing for textiles & about our business?

Both Elisa and I work together (even though we have our own separate companies) a lot on various projects, so it was great to share how we work together from a designer’s point of view and from an interior designer’s point of view.

I’m very pleased to say that our Q&A was well received, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Sharing knowledge is a wonderful thing to do, especially as it can help others in their walk in life.

I would like to say a big thank you to the FespaUK team for inviting us to speak at this conference. It was lovely meeting everyone, and I look forward to meeting-up again whether at another conference or maybe working together in the future. A BIG THANK YOU FOR THE CHOCOLATES…they were tasty!

Another BIG thank you to Sleek Editions who did a great job printing our fabrics at short notice…we did it guys! And for Studio27 who incorporated our designs on to these lovely pieces of vintage furniture, matching the paint works etc. You certainly brought each furniture to life with your special talents.

The next Fespa conference is Fespa Global Print Expo 14-17 May in Munich. It’s titled an “Explosion of Possibilities” and I believe it sure will be.
